Job Purpose
- To plan and execute two signature festivals of AHL, particularly the literary arts programs within Singapore Writers Festivals (SWF), for delivery with clear outcomes.
- To support the Festival Director and programming team in the programming and delivery of the Singapore International Festival of Arts.
- To support local artists and arts groups in the presentation of their work in both festivals.
- To assist in the management of other AHL projects and events.
Responsibilities
- Work as an integral member of the programming and producing team in the Festivals department, with a focus on literary arts programming.
- Develop and implement quality programmes in line with the programming strategies of AHL to reach out to targeted audiences.
- Manage all administrative and logistical areas of the assigned programme including artist liaison, budgets, contracts and licensing, including obtaining necessary approvals from internal and external parties in a timely fashion.
- Works closely with other AHL departments, in particular with Marketing & Communications to optimise publicity of programmes so as to maximise revenue and attendance, as well as cultivating and maintaining artists/stakeholder relationships.
- Supports Partnership Development to canvas and secure sponsorships for the festival’s programmes. This includes making recommendations for possible grants and funding sources.
- Any other duties as assigned by Deputy Director, Festivals.
Qualifications
- Degree preferably in Arts and/or Social Sciences, or relevant training from arts institutions. A subject concentration in English Literature is an advantage.
Experience
- Preferably 3 Years [For Assistant Manager] or 5 Years [ For Manager] of proven experience in an arts organisation or relevant arts context, demonstrating a strong aptitude/interest for programming.
- Involvement (curating and/or programming) in festivals or literary programmes is an advantage.
Skills
- Fluent in English, proficiency in a mother tongue language will be an advantageA good understanding of budget and project management.
- Proficiency in using and applying MS Office at work.

- Able to work outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
